(Lisa fixes her bag)
(Maya comes to her)
Teacher: Lisa!
(teacher comes to Lisa)
Teacher: I’m so proud of you, Lisa. You got the highest score in the exams! Keep it up!
Lisa: (smiles) Thank you, miss!
(teacher walks away)
Maya: hey, you’ve done it again! I told you, you’d get the highest scores!!!
Lisa: I guess it’s just really good luck!!!

Maya: Oh, luck? No! You’re really just smart, and I’m proud to be your best friend!
Lisa: Thanks best friend!

Maya: You’re welcome! Anyway, let’s go to the library so you can return your book already!
Maya: Okay! Wait, let me just get it…
(Lisa turns away)
Maya: Best friends? Yeah right. You may be nice, but still, I’m better than you think I am. I really hate you.

Scene 2: Library Scene
(Lisa accompanies Maya to a table, Maya sits down)
Lisa: I’ll just return my book And I might borrow one I might take a while. Is that okay?

Maya: (smiles) Yeah sure!

(Lisa returns books)

Maya: Whatever… (Maya makes faces)
Claire: Hey Maya! What are you doing here?
Maya: I was just accompanying Lisa, she’s returning a book right now.
Claire: Oh cool, and speaking of Lisa do you think she’ll take long? I want her to read my essay and see if it’s alright.
Maya: Hmm… she said she might take a while.

Claire: Oh great, I’m in a hurry…
Maya: Well why don’t I just read your essay?
Claire: Uhhh… I don’t know…
Maya: Listen, Claire; I don’t think she’s the type who’d help people who aren’t as smart as here.
Claire: What?! How’d you know?

Maya: I’m her best friend, remember? And as a best friend, I’d know these things. But unlike here, I’d be glad to help you!

(Claire agrees and Lisa arrives)

Lisa: Oh, hey Claire!
Claire: Oh hi…(sarcastic)
Lisa: What are you guys doing?
Maya: Homework

Claire: Obviously (glares at Lisa)

Lisa: Can I help?

Classmate: No thanks, I don’t think you’re the type who’d be interested in helping people like me. Thanks, Maya!
(Lisa is confused)

Scene 3:
In Maya’s room,
Maya: (going to bed) Argh! What is with me that can’t get the highest score? I did everything I could! Isn’t that enough? (looks to paper) I guess it wasn’t. Oh well, I guess there’s always next time to beat Lisa… but is that even possible? I mean, look at her. She’s everything that I’m not! She’s smart as can be and just down right perfect! Everyone sees her as this idol, while everyone just sees me as just the best friend of an idol. I’ve envied her for the longest time. Come on, you would also envy her if you were in my position, right? Why can’t I do anything to outdo her?

Scene 4
Maya’s Dad: Kids! Time for dinner!
(Maya and Carlo comes out)
Carlo: Dad! Look! (shows card)
Dad: Wow, Carlo! 95, 93, 95.. a 97 in Math! Wow! I’m proud of you, baby.
(hugs Carlo)
(Maya gets jealous)

Maya: Hey, dad! I was the 5th highest in out exam!
Dad: That’s nice, honey. (smiles)

Maya: Why don’t you hug me, when I tell you what I’ve achieved?

Carlo: That’s because you didn’t get a line 97 in math, actually you got that opposite. Right?
Dad: Carlo! Maya, its’ not like that, but maybe if you did get higher grade…
Maya: NO! STOP! I KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING! YOU LOVE HIM MORE BECAUSE HE’S SMARTER, AND I’M NOT, AND THAT’S WHY YOU LOVE ME LESS!

Dad: Honey, no…
Maya: No, dad. This happens all the time! All you care is about is Carlo! What about me? What about your Maya?
(Maya walks away)

Scene 5
(bell)
Teacher: Good afternoon class
Class: Good afternoon ms.
Teacher: Okay, the student’s activities coordinator just told that our school will be having a writing contest. Every class must have 2 representatives but only one among the other contestants will be declared as winner.
Classmate1: Eli should join!

Classmate2: Yeah!

Classmate3: No! I don’t want to!
Lisa: (to Maya) Hey, Maya. I think this is a great opportunity for me!
Maya: You’ll join the contest?
Lisa: Yes, this is a great chance for me to show my writing skills.
Maya: Oh. I see…
Lisa: Miss! I want to join!

Maya: Oh!!! Me too!!!
Teacher: All right then. Does everybody in the class agree that Lisa and Maya will be your representatives?
Class: Yes!!!
Teacher: Okay, then it’s settled!

Maya: Maybe this time, I will win. Maybe this time, I will be on higher position than Lisa. Oh. This is just beautiful.

Lisa: Oh. Maya, do we have any homework?
Maya: Nothing I know of.
Lisa: Would you like to come by our house tonight?
Maya: what for?
Lisa: Nothing, just plain bonding.
Maya: Oh yeah, sure.

Scene 6
(Maya and Lisa arrives at Lisa’s house)
Lisa: Oh. So come on! Let’s go inside.
Maya: Okay. Sure.
Lisa: Hello Mom! This is my best friend Maya.
Mom: Hi there Maya! So how was school, you two?

Maya: It was okay.
Lisa: Good. Quite stressful but I can manage.
Mom: Well you two look tired, why don’t I make cookies for you girls?
Lisa: Cool! Can I help me? Maya, you wanna help make cookies?
Maya: Uhhh… not thanks, I might mess up the recipe.

Mom: Well just feel at home while we make you snacks, okay?

Maya saw how bonded Lisa’s family was. She looked happy conversing with Lisa’s family but at the back of her mind she was very envious.

Maya(in her mind ) :A loving and caring mom, wow. Her life’s just perfect isn’t it? How lucky can she get? I bet she invited me here to brag about how perfect her life is. That’s it, after this… it’s over.

Scene 7:
The next day, at school:
Lisa: Hey Maya! Let’s got down already so we can eat!
Maya: (ignore)
Lisa: Maya! Oh Maya! Come on! Or they’ll run out of pizzas!
Maya: (ignore)
Lisa: (approach Maya) Hey, what’s wrong? Did I do something? Did I say something? Why aren’t you talking to me?
Maya: Wow, did I hear that, right? You don’t know what’s wrong?! Miss Perfect, Miss –Know –It –All?
Lisa: Maya, what are you saying?
Maya: All I’m saying is that whenever I’m with you, I’m just a shadow. I never get to shine because you’re so perfect. I’ve envied you for as long as I can remember. And this (remove friendship bracelet) is just the perfect symbol for me being your shadow! (throws bracelet)
Lisa: (pick up the bracelet) Maya, why didn’t you tell me?
Maya: Because I know you’d never listen to me! It’s all about you!

Lisa: Why didn’t you tell me I was intimidating you? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean too…(gives the bracelet)

Maya: Find someone else to give that bracelet to, I’m not your best friend anymore. I never was.

Lisa: What?! You just broke my heart, you know? I’ve NEVER thought of trying over shadow you. That’s just what YOU though! I can’t believe you’d think I’d try to hurt you! You know you’re right… maybe you never were my best friend. But just so you know, you used to be mine.

Maya: What? I… didn’t know. I’m sorry

Lisa: Well that’s too bad… and no, you’re not sorry.

Scene 8
(Maya and Lisa enter the place at the same time, they saw each other but immediately turned away.)
*writing contest
Emcee: Good morning students. We are gathered here today for the a writing contest that will determine who is the most talented writer in the batch! The winning essay  will be published in a magazine which has taken an interest to publishing students’ works.

*contest on going

Scene 9
(Class)
Teacher: Girls! Settle down! I have an announcement, and it’s about the results of the writing contest!
Lisa: This is weird. Why am I so nervous? Ughhh. I hate this feeling.
Maya: (whispers) Lord, please help me. Lord, please! Please let me win!
Teacher: I would like to congratulate your class because Maya’s work was chosen to be published in the magazine!
Classmate: Wooooh. Way to go, Maya! Nice one.

*bell. End of class
Teacher: Uhm. Lisa, please come over.
Lisa: What is it miss?
Teacher: I would like you to read this. It’s Maya’s entry in the contest. Thought you should know what’s written… read the last paragraph
*LISA READS
Lisa: I used to have a friend, a best friend. She was so kind to me, sweet, nice and intelligent. She was everything that I am not and I hated her because of that. But I never realized that because of my hate, I would lose her. She made me see that a true friend would never do anything to hurt their friend. Now, I really miss her. I want to tell her that I’m sorry, and that if she gives me the chance to be friends with her again, I’d be do my best to win her trust and to show her that I’m regret hurting her and that I love her. And lastly I’d tell her:

Please give me a chance to wear the bracelet again.

Please give me the chance to be your best friend again.

Teacher: She’ really sorry, Lisa.

Lisa: Yes, I know, Miss. Thank you, thank you for showing me this.
Teahcer: You’re very welcome, Lisa! But actually, it was Maya’s request that I show it to you.

Scene 10
(Teacher walks away, Maya approaches Lisa)

Maya: Lisa!

Lisa: Maya!

Maya: Lisa! I’ve been looking everywhere for you! Please listen… to me. Lisa, I miss you so much. I’m really sorry. Please? I did not mean to hurt you, promise I’ll be a better friend this time. I’ll change my ways. Believe me. Please.
Lisa: I do, I do believe you. I read your essay, and Maya I miss you too and I forgive you; and all I want right now is for you to wear this. Best friends?
Maya: (hugs) Best friends!

Scene 1: closed curtains
Anne: What? Ronald, what are you saying?

Ronald: If it wasn’t for you and your family, all of this wouldn’t have happened! If it wasn’t for you, MY MOM WOULD’VE LIVED!!! All of this is because your family is rich and we aren’t!! That’s why your family is the world’s favorite!!(Points the gun to Anne)

Anne: I thought we were friends, Ronald! What happened to your promise? That when we meet again, we’d have the best day ever

Ronald: Oh, this is the best day ever… FOR ME!!! (SHOOTS)

Paula: No, Ronald, Stop! RONALD!!

Scene 2: (

(Curtain close, Lights out,Lights in, Paula backstage)

PN: The poor would have had hope, if only unfairness didn’t shut their mouth. Everyday there are unheard stories of inequality. This is a hidden story of innocent minds oppressed by injustice.

PN: One night, two babies were born to two families with different worlds.

(Mr. Ramos, walks in with wife in the hospital)

Mr. Ramos: Ok, remember honey, just breath in, breath out. (Sees the background). NURSE! Please Help, My wife’s in labor!

Mrs.  Ramos: (Breathing Heavily) Hon, I don’t think I can do this anymore….. (Breathes heavily again)

(Nurse comes, running)

N: Sir, let’s now place her in the bed while we’ll wait for a doctor to come.(places in bed)

(Doctor comes, running)

D: Where’s the patient?

N: Here, Doc.

(Doc sees patient, readies)

D: Now, just do what I say. Breathe in, Breathe out. (2x)

N: Doctor, The Montenegros are here and Mrs. Montenegro’s in labor!

D: Okay, Mrs. Ramos, wait here. I’ll just…

Mr. Ramos:  You’ll just what? Go to them? You can’t just leave us here! My wife’s in labor!

D: I’ll take care of your wife, after Mrs. Montenegro, Sir. (Goes to MrsMontenegro) now, Breathe in, Breathe out. (2x)(While closing curtains)

PN: A tragic ending, and a beautiful beginning. Mrs. Ramos died of childbirth, choosing his baby boy to live. Mrs. Montenegro, on the other hand, survived bearing a baby girl. This is the beginning of our unfortunate tale.

Scene 3: (Classroom)

PN: The baby of the Montenegros grew up to be a fine lady, and she happens to be my best friend.

 (Classroom of Anne and Paula)

Class; Good Morning,Ms. Santos. It’s nice to see you. Benedicite!

Teacher: A nice way to start my day. Shall we have great news?

Class: (silent)

Teacher: A FIELD TRIP!

Class; WOOOHH! (PARTY.)

Anne; (turning her back from the front) Hey Pau, you’ll be my partner right?

Paula; Of course! (appears with Anne)

Anne; And I’ll be sitting beside the window, right?

Paula: What? No! I’m the one who’s going to sit beside the window!

Anne: (stared at Pau) I SAID I’LL BE THE ONE IN THE WINDOW SEAT.

Paula; (sigh) FINE.(rolls eyes) Bossy rich girl.

Anne: (shocked) I didn’t mean it that way! I’m sorry; you can have the window seat!

Paula: (laughs) Don’t worry, I was kidding too.

Teacher: Alright everybody, be quiet. Now who among you here will not join the field trip?

( 3 raise their hands)

Classmates: Awwwwwww.

Teacher: Ok, so that gives me a partner and the rest of you will be in pairs.(everybody smirks)

(bell, class is over)

Anne: Hey, let’s go to my house!

Paula: Oh I can’t, I’m hanging out with my cousin after school. Can I just go tomorrow? Say hi to your parents for me!

Anne: That’s okay, and will do! See you tomorrow!

Scene 4(house, not that rich but not that poor either)

(Lights on)

PN: I have this cousin, whom I’m really close with. His name is Ronald. He was the baby of Mrs. Ramos, the baby she gave her life up to. Ronald knew he was the reason why his mom died, but he didn’t exactly know how it was his fault.

Mr. Ramos: Uhhh… This is the worst day ever. (tired)

Shiela: Really? What happened?

Mr. Ramos: You see, I was together applying with this guy in a company.

Shiella: Yeah, so… what’s up with this guy?

Mr. Ramos: Well, I don’t know who he is. I just think he has connections with the people in the company, most especially with the board of directors. That’s why he got in, and I didn’t. The staff didn’t even bother to check my credentials!

Shiela: Oh. That seems so unfair, dad.

Mr. Ramos: You said it, sweetie.

(Ronald enters)

Ronald: Dad… Uh… I need to show you something.

(pulls out IR and card)

Dad: What’s this? (reads) An Incidental Report for being caught up in a fight, AND a PTC letter for failing in two subjects? Is this how you say thank you to your father for sending you to a good school?

Ronald: Dad, I’m really sorry..

Dad: Ronald, how could you be so childish? So irresponsible? Do you think I could forgive you with just a sorry?

Ronald: Dad, the fight…  it was for a friend…

Dad: I don’t need your excuses, Ronald! Is this how you repay your mother for letting you live!

Sheila: Dad, here we go again, calm down.

Dad: Quiet, Sheila! Ronald, you’re the reason why your mother died! When your mother passed away, our family suffered because of the loss, but we’re trying hard to move on and live. But look at you… you’re not even trying to help to make things better! You’re making her death meaningless even if you know you caused it! I can’t take this anymore, argh!

(dad walks out)

(Paula enters)

(Sheila comes to Ronald)

Sheila: Ronald, I’m so sorry.

Ronald: Why is he like that, Sheila? He blames years he’s blamed me for everything, because I was the reason why mom died! But he never tells me how it’s my fault. How is it my fault Sheila? Tell me, how was I the reason mom died?

Sheila: (troubled look) Ronald… I’m not sure I can tell you. But you have a point when you say that dad blames you for everything. But dad has a point to, you’ve been really bad, Ronald. Maybe you should change a little bit to make your life a more beautiful one… you know… for us… and for mom.

Paula: Ate Sheila’s right, Ronald. Here, how about we help you in your homework? Ate can help you in Math while I can help you in Science.

Ronald: I don’t know…

Sheila: You can do it, Ronald. We’ll be here to help you. It’ll make dad happy, and mom even more proud of you.

(lights off)

Scene 5: (house, seriously rich)

(lights on)

(anne opens her notebook)

PN:Anne, compared to Ronald, had a totally different world.

(mom and dad enters)

Mom: Good work, Robert. Juanito landed a job. But then again, whatever happens, he’ll definitely get the job! He’s your nephew.

Dad: True… but that Mr. Ramos gave me a pretty impressive resume..

Mom: Oh, hush you. It’s for the family. Oh, hi Anne!

(anne waves)

Dad: By the way, dear. I almost forgot. We got that business deal, the one with the mining and housing? 100,000 hectares of virgin forest, soon to be a big subdivision. What do you think?

PN:Anne belongs to the prominent family of the Montenegros. They own the Montenegro Corp, a big-time company. But they’re type of families who use their money to get by through everything.

Scene 6: (classroom)

(Bell)

PN: So it was homeroom time, and while Anne and I were talking…

Classmate: Hey you! Yeah YOU! Yeah, I’m talking to you Montenegro!  Do you know that because of that land deal of your father’s, my aunt and her family will soon lose their home? Can you imagine my cousins growing up without a descent home? (shakes head) I though you came from a good family, with you being so nice and all. Guess I was so wrong.

Anne: I’m sorry for that… I’ll try my best to convince dad to make thing work out for everyone…

Classmate: Uhuh… sure you will. (sarcastic)

PN: Anne was disheartened. She wanted to explain to our classmate more, that it wasn’t her fault and that she knew her dad was wrong… but she couldn’t… the classmate never even gave her the chance to explain herself.

Scene 7: (classroom)

Paula: Hey. You know what, just ignore her. Uhuh. I know someone that will make you laugh.

Anne: Who?

Paula: Ronald. He’s my cousin. I promise you, he’s really fun to be with. I guarantee you that once you’re with him, you’ll forget all about this.

Anne: I don’t know… I’m not really sure that…

Paula: Oh come on!

(Paula pulls Anne, both laughs)

SCENE 8: (park or house)

NP: I decided to let my best friend and my cousin to meet, hoping that they’d both feel better about themselves by having time to just hangout.

Paula walking*

(At first, They were shy. )

Paula; Hey! There he is! RONALD!!! (waves her hand)

Ronald: ( Towards Paula) Hey Paula. Who’s this with you?

Paula: Ronald, This is Anne, My Best Friend.

Ronald: Hhhhi Anne. (Stuttering)

Anne:  Hi. (blushes)

Paula; You guys stay here; I’ll get something for us to eat.(goes to a fishball stand)

Anne: Okay… *Smiles*

Ronald: So, Anne?

Anne: Anne Montenegro, that’s my full name.

Ronald: Oh. Montenegro? It sounds familiar.

Anne: Oh. My Family owns Montenegro Corporation.

Ronald: Ohh… oh yeah! That’s it! (whispers) Rich girl?

Paula: Here you go guys!

Paula; (narrator) I’m glad I brought Anne to meet Ronald, because even if they were awkward at first, they became, good friends; and, both of them momentarily forgot the bad things that happened to them: Anne with the classmate and Ronald with his dad. (while narration goes on, they all laugh and smile especially A and R)

Paula: Well, I better get going. My family and I will be eating out. Bye guys!(leaves)

Ronald: Say hi to aunt and uncle for me!

Anne: I should get going too…

 Ronald: Oh! Well… Anne?

Anne: Yes?

Ronald: I was wondering, if we could meet sometime.

Anne: Uhmmm…

Ronald: I promise I’ll make that day the best ever.

Anne: Promise?

Ronald: I promise.

 *Anne Waves goodbye *

 Ronald: YESSS!!!

Anne: Excuse me? (Chuckles)

Ronald: Ohhh… Sorry. (Blushes)

PN: The two were really destined to meet each other. But for what cause? I mean, nothing ever happens without a reason, right?

scene 9

PN:  Anyway, Ronald came home with a big smile on his face. But that was erased by came next…

 (knock, Sheila opens)

Sheila: May I help you?

DT1: Ma’am, we are from Smashers Demolition and we have a court order that instructs you to vacate this place within 5 hours, or we’ll be forced to demolish your house with your belongings inside.

Sheila: What? Why?

DT2: The Mr. Montenegros of Montenegros Corp. bought the land where you house is, it’s for company’s new industrial project, ma’am.

Ronald: But this is our home! You can’t just take it away from us!

Sheilla: He’s right! And we didn’t even have our say in this! Please help us, give us more time to sort this out!

DT1: I’m afraid there’s nothing you can about it ma’am. And we can’t help you either, we’re just following the company’s orders and are just doing our job.

Sheila: How could they do this without even consulting us?!

DT2: Ma’m, I’m sorry, but what choice do you have? This is the Montenegros we’re talking about. They can buy you off… Actually, they just did!

 Ronald: Take that back, sir!

Sheila: (sighs) No Ronald, they’re right. Let’s just hurry up and pack our stuff.

PN: Even if my cousins wanted to something, they couldn’t have. The power of money got the best of the situation. So they packed up, and headed to our home.

(Sheila, father and Ronald comes to Paula. Paula welcomes them. Paula escorts Mr. Ramos away from the house and leaves Sheila and Ronald alone.)

Scene 10(paula’s house: better than ronald’s, lesser than Anne’s)

Paula: Hey guys, I’ll just show, uncle where you guys will be staying, okay?

Shiella: Okay, Paula. Thanks again for letting us stay here.

Paula: No problem, cuz.

Ronald: Ate Sheila…

Sheila: Yes?

Ronald: How did mom die? How is it my fault?

*Sheila remained silent

Ronald: Come on, big sister I deserve to know how it really happened. I’m old enough now.

Sheila: Ronald, sit down.

*Ronald sits down

Shiella: Before I answer you. Why do you want to know? I mean, why now?

Ronald: It’s just that, sooner or later, I know dad will blame me for this demolition thing again. And well, I just want to know the real reason why he blames me all the time. I know I was the reason why mom died, but no one ever tells me how she died and how is it my fault.

Sheila: The day before you were born, dad lost his job.  And when mom gave birth to you, we didn’t have enough money to pay for good medical services. To add to that, on the time mom was about to give birth to you, another woman from another family was also ready to give birth. It was the Montenegros family. And of course, the hospital chose to take care of them first, because of their money. It didn’t matter to the hospital if we got here first, what mattered was that they served the wealthy first. Mom died, due to lack of medical care. She chose you, her baby, to live.

Ronald: Now I understand why dad hates me… Shiela… I killed our mother. And wait a minute… isn’t Anne a Montenegro… no… this must be just a coincidence.

(lights out, Ronald stays, Shiela leaves.)

Scene 11:
Paula: Hey Ronald!

Ronald: hey.

Paula: Glad to see you’re in a better mood. Try not to think about your house too much. At least you guys are here with us.

Ronald: Thanks, Paula. By the way, your birthday’s coming up!

Paula: Ha! Yeah! Speaking of birthdays, you and Anne has the same birth date.

Ronald: Really?

Paula: Yeah, you were born on the same day as Anne’s. Isn’t that great? Now you two have more things in common! Good thing too! I can see you both like each other!

Ronald: What…(confused)

Paula: Surprised aren’t you?(laughs)

Ronald: (shakes head) Oh, I’m more than surprised, Paula. (voice rising)

Paula: (laughs)What do you mean?

Ronald: Anne Montenegro and I were born on the same day isn’t it? Right? Anne MONTENEGRO. That means she killed my mother…(whisper like)

Paula: Woah, calm down Ronald. What are you talking about?

Ronald: Paula, my mom and dad arrived in the hospital before they did. And still the doctor favored them instead of us! You know why? Because they’re rich, that’s it. It didn’t even matter to the hospital that my mom’s life was at stake!

Paula: Ronald…

Ronald: And now, they took our home, without even caring that we have nowhere else to go! Did we ever do anything to the Montenegros? Huh, Paula?

Paula: I… no, Ronald, please… I think you’ve misunderstood the situation.

Ronald: No… I understand everything Paula. This is the Montenegro’s entire fault… And I’m going to make them pay for it.(storms off)

PN: I, honestly, have no idea what’s on Ronald’s mind right now… and that scares me.

Scene 12: (paula’s house)

PN: Anyway, I was happily packing for the trip. I’m really excited, and I’m sure Anne is too. But for some reason, after I heard what Ronald said, I was worried. Make the Montenegros pay? Make Anne pay? He must be just kidding me.

(Paula’s dad comes in)

Dad: Happy birthday, baby! (sings happy birthday song) my baby is growing up.

Paula: Yes, but growing up or not. I’ll always be your baby girl.

Dad: I love you, princess.

Paula: love you too, dad.

(hugs)

PN: After my dad, greeted me. I felt less worried. But it just made realize, that that was the dad my cousin, Ronald, never had… again I was not at ease.

Ronald: (preparing his things) Anne. This is your family’s entire fault. I WILL, make you pay.

PN: Finally, the day of our field trip came! Who knew what our fate would be that day? Who knew what we were in for? But Ronald seemed to have planned something for us.

Scene 13(bus)

P: Hey, isn’t that… (Shouts) RONALD! What are you doing? And what’s with the…..(Shocked, then almost to self,) GUN?

R:  Everybody, This is a Hostage! Sit still, and if anyone tries to contact the police, I’ll kill all of you! (Trembling Voice) Anne? ANNE! WHERE ARE YOU!  (grabs one of their classmates, and ) If you don’t stand up, I’ll shoot this girl right now!

Anne: (Tremblingly Stand up) Here Ronald, Here I’m right here. I don’t know what you want, but if this is just between the two of us… please, leave my classmate and everyone else, out of this.

R: Your right, Anne, your absolutely right- that this is between the two of us. You know why? Because of you, my mother died. Because of you, my family doesn’t have a home to call their own anymore. And because of you… I’M GETTING BLAMED FOR EVERYTHING!!!

RONALD!! (Before and just as Ronald fired the gun, Paula runs to anne and takes the bullet)

A: (kneels down to the bleeding Paula) Paula, can you hear me?! Paula?! Paula!!! (cry, cry, cry)

P: (Gasping for air) Don’t worry, I’ve called the police, when he wasn’t looking. They should be here soon. Be good, huh? Don’t let what Ronald said, get to you. Learn to live, forgive and let go.

(Police Comes)

Police: Hey you!

Ronald: NOOOOOOOO!!!

Close Curtains.

(gunshots)

 Scene 14

(Paula’s funeral march)

Anne’s narration: Paula died on her birthday. I still can’t accept that fact. My best friend saved my life. I can’t thank her enough for that. And she left me with this anger and sadness. Anger, for I knew that it was my family’s fault why Ronald was suffering.  And sadness, for I know that Ronald will never gain the true justice that he wanted.

Anne: My best friend taught me how to forgive. And I know that wherever she is, she had forgiven Ronald.

AN: I hope that this story will still continue. There are still hidden stories of injustice out there. And I hope all those stories will someday gain its happy ending, so that all people will know the true meaning of justice, to be fair and to look beyond one’s circumstances.
